Shabana Khatoon, a resident of Ganpattaul in the Mansoorchak block of Begusarai district, has emerged as a triumphant figure, crafting a new identity for herself through the transformative power of the Satat Jeevikoparjan Yojana (Scheme by Govt. of Bihar for ultra poors, implemented by JEEVIKA). Illiterate and abandoned by her husband after just four years of marriage, Shabana faced a daunting future for both herself and her children. Seeking refuge in her maternal home, she found herself making beedis laborer to support her family.
However, a beacon of hope shone upon Shabana when she joined JEEVIKA in 2020. The association instilled newfound confidence in her, and her life took a remarkable turn when she caught the attention of CRP Didi, who recognized the dire state of her economic affairs. Guided by the Satat Jeevikoparjan Yojana, Shabana received financial support that enabled her to embark on her own business venture. Currently, Shabana manages a thriving enterprise focused on Fudna and Dora under the micro-business segment. Through her efforts, she garners a monthly income of around 10 thousand rupees and has even provided employment opportunities to others, uplifting her community in the process. Shabana's joy and contentment are palpable, as her family now revels in newfound happiness.
She reflects on her past worries about unemployment and marvels at how, with the support of JEEVIKA, she has successfully connected several other women, fondly referred to as "didis," to meaningful employment opportunities.
Shabana Khatoon's success story is a testament to the potential for positive change and empowerment that the Satat Jeevikoparjan Yojana brings to the lives of rural women. Through determination and the invaluable support of JEEVIKA, she not only altered her own destiny but also became an inspiration to countless others, spreading rays of hope and prosperity in her community.
